I was begining to grow weary that Lilly and I would spend forever fighting about eating. For over a week she would take a few bites and then she would just shake her head no at me when I would try to give her another bite. I was baffled. We had been working on he using a spoon to feed herself I would put the bite on the spoon and hand it to her and then she would put it in her mouth. It never occurred to me that she wanted to do it all by herself. And she did not want me to interfere. I only found out through my frustration and saying "alright you do it by yourself, I'll be over here" that I realized that all she wanted. She now eats like a champ! Shortly after starting to feed herself, completely, we decided it might be time to end the use of the high chair and just let her eat at the table. Needless to say she loved that idea. She wants to eat snack in her chair and when I ask her if she is hungry she runs to he chair and starts trying to climb up and she will even put her bib on herself now. She is growing up so so so fast, but I love watching her hit all of these important moments. They are truly priceless.

goofin around
Lilly has developed quite the personality. She is always up for a good laugh and loves to make other people laugh. Her newest gag is hiding in the laundry and "popping" out when you are least expecting it. Ziff keeps all of his socks in a little collapsible laundry hamper in the closet and the other night Lilly entertained me and herself for almost a half hour. She would do a mixture of hiding in the socks and laying in funny poses on the floor. Hilarious I tell ya. This one is going to be my little comedian. Ziff and I are always talking about how there is now way to be upset about anything when she is around because she just has such a genuine smile and a love for fun. In this picture was after she climed out of the basket and was just hiding behind/in all the clothes, I was enjoying her entertainment so much I didn't get a picture of her laying all curled up in the basket. Still pretty cute though if I do say so myself.

Lilly has been working very hard to learn how to dress and undress herself. Socks, shoes, pajamas, jackets, pants, you name it she can master it. She loves to take her clothes off and so recently she started trying to master putting it all back on and she loves to practice with daddy's clothes. Socks are a bit tricky but she is getting the hang of it, it just takes alot of focus to get your foot in that little hole. I just love this picture you can tell how proud she is of her hard work. She was all smiles for the rest of the evening. And I love that she looks like a ballerina doing her warm up exercises toe pointed and everything.

The cow says "moo"
Today we went on a special trip to the farm. It was perfect fall weather, just cool enough for a light sweater. We have been to the farm a couple other times but this time was different. Lilly was so much more aware of the animals and was able to say what each one was and say what they said. Each time she spotted a new animal she would get all excited and start running to see it...all except for the sheep, he "baaaa'd" in her face and she did not like it one bit and insisted I picked her up. We got to see baby piglets that were 7 weeks old, but I think she prefered the huge mommy pigs.

We ventured to the playground part of the farm which we have never seen before, mostly because the last times we went it started storming and we had to run for the car.

Ah chickens were the hit of the day she stayed and watched the chickens the longest. She cant quite say chicken but we're working on it.

It was a great morning. I got to enjoy Lilly in all her fabulous-ness. Her love for animals and curiosity to learn tugs at a special place in my heart. It is truly amazing to watch her grow and learn. And I hope sincerely her love for animals and life doesn't fade.

New
I know you may be wondering why I am posting about this...it has nothing to do with Lilly, but actually it does affect Lilly. :-) We got the new night stands mainly for the reason that Ziff has to fit his cpap thing on it each nigh but they also provide the additional benefit that Lilly can no longer pull all my books out, set our alarms for random times, and cannot reach our glasses when they sit up there. Oh it has been so nice being able to have her in our bedroom and not have to worry about having everything torn apart. The bed frame we didn't really need but it matches the nightstands and we got it on a wicked sale. So we splurged!
