Found it!!!

Look mom I found the toy box! At least thats the look she had on her face. With her new found freedom of crawling she discovered the toy box today...and all the cool toys inside. What you can't see from this picture is the line of toys that reaches all the way to me and I am across the room. Lilly was standing looking into her toy box...all by herself... I was not even next to her when she decided to explore the toys (i was right on the other side of the couch though)... although she found that her arms were too short to reach in and grab the toys..that or there aren't enough toys in it :-P but regadless it got tipped over and she began to explore each toy. She would pull it out... give it a taste and then move on to the next toy, unless of course it tasted good. I cought this picture as she was crawling away from the scene of the crime leaving behind only evidence of... Lilly the mess maker :-) for mommy to pick up. It was bound to happen... but it seems like all of her growing up is happening at once.

All wet

Lilly is a swimmer !!! A natural just like mommy and daddy. We are so proud of her! she has done great in her classes. They are Tuesdays and Thursdays, which have become my favorite days, and not just because she naps like an angel after class, but also because i have so much fun in class with her. She has no problems whatsoever floating on her tummy or even on her back. She is at home in the water. She is all smiles all class. In this picture she is chasing her squeaky frog. Each child gets to pick a toy and they throw it out into the water and have to kick on their tummy's to it. Lilly is in love with her frog. From the moment she gets into the water to even as we are walking out her eyes are on this frog. Its pretty cute. She gets along great with the other kids in the class and has no problem striking up conversations with them. The other day as she was floating on her tummy, she bobbed her head down into the water not realizing it... I expected her to start screaming, but to my happy surprise she just coughed a little regrouped herself and wanted to keep going. We were so proud!!!!

6 month check up

Lilly did great at her check up. The doctor had nothing but good things to say. She is healthy and strong. She is now 26 inches long (55%) 13lbs 13 oz (15%) and has a head circumference of 16 1/2 in (35%). Lilly was all about studying Dr. Jason. He was attempting to get her to mimic him, but she just gave him a quizzical look. ( she does mimic, but she doesn't do it right after you, you'll catch her later trying to do it) She did chase him across the exam table though. He would move his laptop and she would crawl to it so she could help him type. It was cute.We are so blessed to have a happy, healthy, strong baby!

Milestones

This morning as i was checking my email, Lilly decided she didn't want to play with the toys she had in front of her, so she wiggled herself or she may have crawled (she's been doing it a little) but i didn't see, and she decided she wanted to play with her music table so she pulled herself up first to kneeling and then all the way up to standing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow i still can't believe it. She is so determined!

The New year

For New years day we decided to venture up to Red Rocks park and amphitheater. It was so neat! It was absolutely beautiful. We had to walk up this long steep ramp and then up hundreds of stairs, my legs were killing me, to get to the top of the amphitheater but the view was priceless. Off in the distance you could see Denver, although it was so small. There were some crazies running... i mean sprinting up all the stairs. They also skipped ans crawled... something about new you for the new year. I was shocked I almost fell just walking :-) The weather was nice about 52 degrees with a slight breeze. After walking all those stair we decided we were to tired to take the real hike... at least Ziff was to tired. So we had a picnic. It was a great was to bring in the new year! Yay 2009! a year of many new possibilities and lots of new memories!

Lilly's 1st christmas

I love the collage feature on picasa I would first like to say again! There are so many pictures sometimes I want to post but the collage makes it so easy for everyone to see them all!Anyways Lilly's first Christmas was a great one. It was just Ziff, Lilly and I Christmas morning. Christmas eve we had our friends and their daughter Alison over for dinner and games. It was really fun. Santa was really good to Lilly this year and she had so much fun with all her new toys and clothes. When she laid eyes on her rocking caterpillar she lit up. I'm not sure if it was the big red bow Santa put on it or the caterpillar itself. Mommy and daddy got her some cool drums which she really likes, her cousins Ginny and jake got her a bird feeder toy that sings and count and she always attacks the birds, its funny. She also got a stuffed penguin which every time she see him (his name is Pete-e) she puts her arms out and reaches for him and then bites his beak, I assume its her way of kisses. And she got a ton of cute clothes from family...you know who you are and Lilly says thank you! After lots of playing she was worn out and took a long nap while mommy and daddy rested also. Overall it was a great day spent just the 3 of us relaxing and being chill.
