All 4's

Lilly is on all 4's! She has been pushing herself up onto all 4's and trying to move forward. She hasn't started moving forward yet but she is steady on her hands and knees. She has however dis covered she can kinda crawl backwards. I caught this pic as she was sliding down onto her tummy again...Go Lilly Go!

Early christmas present

I caved... it's official. I gave her a present early, but in my defense she was having a rough day and I just thought it would help. She seems to like it in 5 minute increments, I think mostly because she's not quite sure how to bounce in it, so I end up bouncing her.

Oh food

Lilly is not a huge fan of solid foods yet.. although we have found a few tricks that have helped us to get her to at least take a few bites. She has many silly tricks up her sleeve, such as pursing her lips together so that you can't pry her mouth open even with the jaws of life, putting her hands up to cover her mouth or rub her eyes as if to say, I'm to tired to eat... or my new favorite, if by chance you should manage to get some food into her mouth she simply opens up wide, sticks her tongue out and lets the food slide right off. It's quite entertaining. Both of these pictures were just to cute to not post, the top one is from today, she kept trying to take the bowl from me, so i sad you know your outfit is already dirty... have at it. I think she was shocked I let her make a mess. It was all so new to her it didn't last very long, but my hope is that by letting her play with it she will learn it's good. The bottom picture is just Lilly being Lilly. Dinner was going good, and she realized that hmmm this food isn't so bad after all. She was a happy girl and trying to share her food with mommy. What a good girl!

Zoo lights

Last night we went to the Denver Zoo lights. It was a blast for all of us. I love this zoo because there are so many hippo displays!!! I love the Hippos! And Lilly seemed to also. The animals were inside nice and cozy because it's so darn cold here. But we went into where the elephants, rhinos, and hippos were and the rhino was asleep and the hippos were under water cuddling, when they popped there heads up Lilly got all excited and started trying to talk to them, before that she was quiet and just enjoying the ride. We went by the sea lions and they started barking at Lilly and so she growled back at them, Ziff and I were dying it was hilarious. Were are all bundled up and still cold but we'd do it again next year.

Lilly's first snow

Over the last 48 hours it has snowed a total of 7.5 inches! It was crazy our honda is burried out there. Luckily the jeep was in the garage. Lilly took daddy out on the porch in the morning to check it out... silly daddy went out barefoot, she thought it was funny. After naptime Lilly and I ventured out to get a closer look at her first sonw, she thought it was really cold. She was all bundled up in her nice warm snowsuit and fleece jammies... it was only 14 degrees out so we had to really bundle. I think she likes the snow and will like it alot more when she can throw snowballs at daddy.

Our Thanksgiving

There are so many things to be thankful for this year. My wonderful man who would give the world to Lilly and I if he could and who loves fully and wholly. For our wonderful daughter who has blessed us beyond anything we could ever imagine. For our beautiful home. And for the many blessing God has bestowed upon us this past year. Thank you God!
Lilly had a pretty good first thanksgiving. At least it started out good. She and daddy watched football and some movies and she took alot of little naps. Towards the middle of the day though she broke down and just started crying and crying and didn't want to nap. This happened a week and a half ago so i was fully prepared to take on this fit. But because of her crankiness I wasn't able to take any pictures of her first Thanksgiving...sorry lilly you brought that on yourself... maybe next year. But Ziff and I thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving. I cooked my first turkey which turned out very good (thanks to a few calls to my helpful in-laws and one to my brother the day before) and it was quite entertaining according to Ziff. And i made all kinds of other yummy foods. SO basically spent the morning in the kitchen. After dinner we put out our tree and the outside lights although we are yet to put the ordanents on the tree. And then spent the next 3 hours or so with Lilly trying to console her and finally got her to sleep and in her bed at 9:30 (which is 2 hours past her bedtime). But we both agreed at the end of the day it was by far the best thanksgiving wither one of us had ever had.

She has finally had her "first foods". She seemed to like the rice cereal by itself but when i started mixing it with other stuff like sweet potatoes, she wasn't so much a fan. But she does love to help. I giver her her own spoon and she goes to town, I just have to keep a close eye on her because she gets so excited she put it in to far.

Asleep on the job

Lilly had a long day this day. She went to the doctor for her 4 month check up and immunizations and also was teething major. On top of that we went to the park and then to the store. By the time we sat down for dinner she had already had her bath and was ready for bed (daddy got home from work late so we ate late) needless to say she didn"t make it through dinner.

Daddy time

Last Sunday I was cleaning the house and ziff offered to help by holding Lilly, but as always he got tired so he decided to put on the baby bijorn. While i was doing dishes they serinaded me with a little dance to "Pretty lady do dat dance". It was hilarious and needless to say I had to catch this bonding moment between father and daughter on video.

The princess is 4 months old! I can't believe it. She is so expressive and very talkative. She is so strong too. Weighing in at 12 lbs she is nice and healthy. She is very long though about 26 1/2 in. long. She is so long and lean though that she can still fit into her newborn size clothes. The 3 month ones are still a little baggy on her, but she does wear them. She just recently moved up to size 1 diapers which was huge, i thought she'd never move up in size. She loks just like her daddy... I call her Zifferina. He alwas says its his head on my body, poor kid she is in for it if that doesn't change.

My little pumpkin

Lilly was a little pumpkin for halloween this year. She was so cute and she got a kick out of it as did I. I couldn't stop laughing because she is just so darn cute! On halloween we baked cookies (yummy mummy cookies and monster feet) and took them to daddy's work. They were all so tickled to see Lilly as always and were even more thrilled about the cookies... I am pretty sure as soon as we walked out the door the cookies were gone. 2 days before halloween Lilly and I met up with a friend and her daughter and we went to a halloween carnival at a local play place. They had so much fun. There were toys for kids of all ages which was nice since Lilly is still so little. She even got some professional pictures taken for free which turned out great. It was a great first halloween!!!

First plane ride

Lilly was great! She amazed everyone. She was happier than ever and loved the plane ride. We listened to my ipod for a few minutes and she thought it was the greatest thing, but for most of the ride the sounds of the cabin lulled her to sleep. All of the atendents and passengers were shocked that she was so well behaved and that they didn't hear a peep from her, but she is pretty laid back and we count our blessings for it. She was so curious though and looking everywhere taking in all of her new surroundings she loved it!

Mommy's little helper

Lilly is so wonderful! She has discovered she loves her highchair. When I am cooking dinner or doing the dishes she loves to be in her highchair in the kitchen helping me. I will sing and she will sing along with me. Although her toys are her main occupant she will talk to me and keep me company while i work till daddy gets home. Last night she was done helping me in the kitchen and she was starting to cry but then she heard the door unlock and saw her daddy walk in and she was all smiles. Such a daddy's girl.

Learning new things

Lilly is such a big girl! She is learning how to sit up. She still leans way forward but I am thinking its just a matter of a few weeks before she's got this sitting thing nailed. She is much more active with her toys now. She will reach out and help herself to whatever she pleases whether it be a piece of paper or your food or even just one of her toys. The other day I set some papers on her legs in her car seat not even thinking anything of it and by the time we got home they were all soggy and gross... but she was all smiles and so proud of herself. It was priceless.

Lilly and the great pumpkin

Lilly had a great time at the pumpkin patch yesterday. I must say I think it was a success. She was all smiles and so happy to spend the day with her daddy. We picked out a great pumpkin and despite the rain we all managed to stay fairly warm. Next year will be even better when she's walking.

Lilly's new wiggle

Lilly is such a great baby. She is constantly amazing me. On this particular day she was determined to not play on her boppy. I was lucky enough that she was so persistent I could catch it on video. She wanted so bad to just get going... uh oh... it means crawling is just around the corner.

Getting so big

She's creeping up on 11 weeks and it blows my mind when I think that it was only 11 weeks ago she was wiggling inside my tummy rather that on my lap. She's growing little by little. She's getting more hair and its starting to look like a light brown although its still hard to tell. I decided to try one of her 3 month outfits on her for our family day out and... shockingly it fit. I can't believe it she's moved up a diaper size and is now able to wear 3 month clothes. She is super vocal now and very aware of her surroundings although she's always been very alert. She loves playtime and is starting to grab a hold of things. It so amazing, each day I wake up I wonder what will be next.

Lilly's first trip to the park

She was such a good girl. She sat in her stroller like a big girl and was alert and looking around at everything. When we stopped to get out and sit in the grass she cried a little but we she got out and put her toes in the grass she was a happy girl again. I think trips to the park will be a regular, let's just hope she keeps liking it as much as her first time and more.

First Camping trip

We managed one night of camping... that's it. It was just to darn cold for Lilly. Poor thing she was such a trooper. If it wouldn't have been below freezing I think it might have gone better. She did really well though considering and she seemed to enjoy it. She was all smiles like always. We'll definitely try camping again once I'm not nursing. Although I'm pretty sure Lilly wouldn't mind either way, she's pretty go with the flow.
