Pink polar bear

I was trying to teach Lilly how to make a snow angel, but she didn't like that idea very much.

Well it is only the end of October and we have already had our second snow of the season! Crazy right? This was a true snow storm though unlike the last one...It snowed all day non stop and at times it was snowing so hard it was hard to see. We got a toltal somewhere around 13 inches. I stopped measuring at one point because I didn't have a long enough ruler. But much like last time Lilly was excited to see the snow and really wanting to go out in it. The snow went up well past her boots and made it difficult to walk in but she was a champ and walked all around and had a blast. We did learn though that snow should never touch Lilly's mittens and that laying or sitting in snow is not fun! :-) she let us know that very loud and clear.

Lilly and the great pumpkin...year 2

Last year I think I wrote a post with the same title, but hey it's a classic. I LOVE holidays and everything that comes with them, such as going to the pumpkin patch. Ziff isn't big on things like this, we were going to go but then didn't, and so this year Lilly and I went with our mommy and baby friends, and I think after seeing the fun pictures he realized it isn't so bad to do fun holiday things. Unlike last year the weather was way better than expected. It was really really warm out, and the sun was bright! Lilly and I had a fantastic time. We got to see the animals, play in a hay bale maze, go for a hay ride, and look for our perfect pumpkins out in the fields. We had some great bonding moments and some moments where I really wish Ziff was there, but overall what a great experience. last year wasn't nearly as fun not only because of the weather but because Lilly was not mobile yet and so it was all the same, whereas this year there was an out pouring of excitement and you could see it on her face. Enjoy the pictures...I widdled the down to the best 10 out of the 40 or 50 I took.

Chilly October

I have been a little lazy lately, trying to keep up with all the demands of life seems like a huge chore these days. Now that I am starting to regain my energy I will do my best to keep you up to date. It's hard to believe that we have already had our first snow! Thankfully Ziff was home and got to play with us in it. When Lilly first woke up she saw the snow and said "WOO WOO" I am assuming that meant she liked it. She kept trying to open the front door and would take us by the finger and lead us to the door, as if to show us what she wanted. Her persuasion worked, finally after 2 hours, we caved bundled her up in her snow outfit from last year, because I really didn't think I'd need snow stuff yet, plus she is to small for "real" snow clothes. But she was perfectly content in the outfit she wore. She held daddy's hand and cautiously walked out into the cold. She was thrilled until she thought to walk in to the snow by herself not realizing how deep it was.

Lilly building her courage to let go of daddy's hand and walk alone into the snow!

Lilly lead daddy out...she really wanted to go

Lilly and Daddy letting me take a picture before they headed out.

Overall it was a great day and I think both Lilly and Ziff had a great time! Can't wait for more snow days, although hopefully next time I will be a little better prepared and listen when people tell me it's supposed to snow.

It's a positive!

Ziff and I are so blessed with Lilly. She is the most amazing little girl and each day we say our thanks to God for giving her to us. Each day with her is an amazing new wonder and she teaches us so much about life, ourselves, and each other. And now we are happy to announce we are expecting our second bundle of joy. It is quite a surprise, however at the time of conception we were planning on a second. We sat down this summer and started talking about where life is taking us and which direction we wanted to go. There are so many choices in life and its hard to know which one is right for you in that moment. We had planned to start trying for baby #2 in the fall, but then decided with Ziff's health maybe we should explore me going back to school to get my bachelors degree. There were some things that were holding us back from me being able to do that so we decided maybe I would work and Ziff would go back to school full time and finish his bachelors. So he applied and was excepted to CSU.

I had been feeling super exhausted and had alot of extra back pain, but I chalked it up to the result of having a very active 14 month old and the back pain from sleeping wrong.but after starting to feel sicker and sicker I also realized I had been missing something for a few months and so caved and took a pregnancy test just to prove it was all in my head and life would go on as planned. WRONG!! As soon as my pee hit the stick I swear it turned positive. It was a shock! We must have gotten it right on our first "practice round". Stunned and barely able to contain it I devised a plan on how to tell Ziff. So I used my fabulous fabric pens to make a onzie for Lilly that said "I am going to be a big sister" and we casually went to see Ziff at work when Lilly woke up. He didn't catch on at first but after pushing him the right way he read her shirt and his jaw dropped. All he could say is wow...really?

It took some time for the shock to wear off of both of us, but now we are pressing on for the future with 2 sweet blessings, I just hope baby #2 can live up to Lilly, she is pretty stinkin amazing.
