Swollen feet

I just had to post...my feet are swollen! That never happened when I was pregnant with Lilly. Yesterday marked 34 weeks... and a short 41 days to go. Okay so 41 days is still a while, but I am trying to think positively. I am so much bigger than the first go around, my belly alone measures 39 inches (right around the belly button line) and being bigger has posed some new problems like the inability to bend over, tie my shoes, go for walks, hold Lilly for more than a minute or two, and the inability to get comfy whether it be sitting or laying and worst of all my pregnancy brain has hit an all time high. I have to write everything down, and even write the little details, otherwise I am out of luck. The baby has made himself right at home and has taken up every inch possible, I can feel him everywhere and he sure likes to move. I guess he just doesn't want anyone to forget he is there. I am counting down the days till my body is back to "normal" and I will no longer feel poopy all the time.

Mummified

Lilly was having a 2 year old day. She was set out to be a grump with stuffy ears (meaning she didn't want to listen to anyone). She was dumping toys, chewing her books, smashing crackers into the carpet, flinging sand out of her sand box, and unrolling toilet paper. While I was picking up the crackers she crumbled in our bedroom, she decided to have some fun with the tp. When I walked out to find her doing this my first instinct was to get mad, but I had already been upset with her so many other times that day I decided why not make the best of this and have some fun. So Lilly and I had fun! We dressed up like mummies, made a skirt from the tp and had a tp fight. She was so happy and laughing so much. It was great to see her grumpiness fade if just for a short while.

April flowers

Lilly finally got to wear her Easter dress and she looked so pretty. Very much like a little girl and not so much a baby. And she loved wearing it. She ran to show daddy and was twirling around all morning. It was hard to convince her to take it off for nap time.

Easter 2010

Easter was started off on the perfect note...Lilly slept in!!! After getting up we all ventured out to the living room to discover that the Easter bunny stopped by while we were sleeping. He left a basket full of goodies and a bunch of eggs filled with yummies to hide for Lilly. When she saw the basket her face lit up and she looked at Ziff then at me and said "WOW". She very delicately started going through to see what she got and wanted to start playing right away. So she played with play dough while I started breakfast. We had a fun morning playing and laughing. While Lilly was napping I started making dinner. It was my first real Easter dinner but it turned out pretty good. I made glazed ham, scalloped potatoes, asparagus, and deviled eggs.

After we finished eating we decided to go egg hunting. Lilly was so excited. While I was hiding the eggs she was standing by the door yelling to me that she wanted her shoes on. When we opened the screen door she went running and started filling her basket. Once all the eggs were safely in her basket she came inside to check out what was in the eggs. Ziff helped her sort and pile all of her goodies so she could see everything she got.
We shared a few pieces of candy and decorated ourselves with sparkly princess stickers and then it was time to try out our sidewalk chalk. Lilly had lots of fun with it, but was a little annoyed that her hands kept getting dirty. Thankfully the word wash is one she knows well, so she just kept breaking to "wash" her hands.
After hunting and coloring the patio you would think that one might be tired, but oh no, Lilly had plenty more energy. She was ready to play play dough again and she played and played until finally it was bed time. Alas we had to explain that all of these fun things will still be here to play with when she wakes up. She was not very happy or receptive of this, but guessing by all the smiles and giggles today, I am going to say she had a pretty good day and will forgive us for making her go to bed. It was indeed a happy Easter!
