There are so many wonderful parks here in Fort Collins. We are so lcky that there is a great on that is just a 10 minuite walk away and it has come to be one of our favorites. Today Lilly got to pet a dog. She was so excited as soon as the dog came she said do do do. She said that the whole time the dog was there There was a little girl who was about 3 and she walked over to Lilly and explained that her dog was very friendly and that if Lilly wanted she would show her how to pet the dog. So we followed and LIlly was so excited to pet the dog. The dog tried to kiss lilly and she kept touching his nose. It was priceless. NOw that Lilly is understanding more and more that the park actuallly is fun and ther eare lots of things to do she stays fairly busy. She explores and sees where I will let her walk or if I will let her eat the sand or how much I'll let her dig. It was a beautiful day and pretty warm out and I thought it was funny when Lilly plopped down in the one little square of shade provided by a street light above. Her poor Little feet must have been warm.
Lilly has discovered a new strength. She Loves to see what kinds of heavy things she can lift.Recently she has discovered she can pull her music table around the living room and she loves to flip it over and own it. My favorite thing is when she squats down and puts her hands on either side and try to just flat out pick it up. She is so cute in so many ways and I am very surprised she hasn't hurt herself yet. Now that she is walking she tries to walk around while carrying things, though she isn't quite steady enough on her feet to walk to far with objects in her hand.
Lilly loves her daddy sooooooooo much!!! She is turning into a big daddy's girl. She loves him so much that he isn't even allowed to go potty alone. She is very curious when you go potty, I know this from experience, she likes to play with your feet, your belt or the buttons on your pants. It can get on your nerves very quickly because when you are done, Lilly is still there, so good luck standing up. Sometimes when Ziff gets home from work or on days off he lets her in there with him, but sometimes he just needs a little space. He started closing the door when he needs a little alone time, rather than me making 10 trips in there to remove her. She gets so upset when he closes the door. She scratches at it like a kitty and even puts her fingers under the door as if to say "daddy can't you see me?" It just breaks your heart and you just want to run over and open the door. As soon as you are done and walk out... the tears stop and she sniffles a little and reaches for you to pick her up. I just love this picture... it's so priceless.
Lilly is such a big help! She loves to help put the groceries away (pull all the food out of the pantry and grocery bags), fold the laundry (pull the clothes off the couch into a large pile on the floor which she then proceeds to chew on), put the clothes in the dryer (or in her case pull them out), wipe herself and her tray off after breakfast and dinner, and most of all she loves to help do the dishes. If she sees you in the kitchen or hears the dishwasher open she is right there ready to help. It's quite funny how fast she crawls. She has recently learned how to push and pull the bottom tray and she always tries to help by pulling out the dishes and setting them on the floor, sometime she takes a break after this sitting down among her dishes to admire her work and then she'll push in the bottom and she squats down and with all her might as if she is lifting a large rock lifts the door and pushes it till it's almost closed. Then she pulls it back down and pulls the bottom tray out and starts all over again. I have given up on trying to do the dishes when she starts doing this because i can't help but let her sweet and helpful self go at it. I just try to encourage her and let her know how thankful I am for all of her help. Her big smile says it all..."I am happy to help momma".
